Adrian received a life-changing diagnosis of Pseudobulbar Palsy, a slow progressive form of Motor Neurone Disease, six years ago. While he acknowledges that his abilities have changed over time, Adrian firmly believes in the power of keeping moving to manage his condition.
HOW ADRIAN GETS MOVING
Long walks over the moors have always been a cherished pastime for Adrian. Although he has become more cautious about falling, he still finds comfort in walking independently on flatter pavements around town and appreciates the company of his daughter on longer walks in the countryside.
Adrian and his wife share a love for dancing and have adapted their passion for rock ‘n’ roll to the gentler pace of sequence dancing. This allows them to continue enjoying their favourite hobby together while adapting movements to Adrian’s needs.
During the winter months, Adrian likes to move more by visiting his local leisure centre. Whether Adrian is moving more in the countryside, on the dance floor or in his community leisure centre, Adrian believes that staying active is the most effective way to manage his condition.
