- Brook provides free and confidential sexual health services to any resident Blackburn with Darwen.
- The service is confidential, non-judgmental and is for people of all ages, genders, and orientations.
- Everyone is welcome at Brook; you don’t need to see a GP first – you can attend one of the walk-in clinics or make an appointment at a time that suits you.

Did you know can get a free test posted to you?
- Residents aged 16+ in Blackburn with Darwen can access free testing and treatment for STIs online from SH:24.
- SH:24 provide free a confidential consultation and will recommend the most appropriate kit for you.
- Tests are sent via first class post in a plain envelope, The kits include clear instructions to help you take your own samples at home and a freepost envelope to return your samples. Results will be sent to you within 3 days via text message.
- SH24 can also provide photo diagnosis of certain STIs all delivered from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
- All services are discrete and confidential.

How can I protect myself from STIs?
The best way to protect yourself from STIs is to practice safe sex. This includes using condoms or dental dams during sexual activity and getting tested regularly for STIs.

Will you tell my GP if go to Brook for contraception or an STI test?
- When you visit Brook or a similar sexual health clinic, the information about your visit is kept confidential, and it does not automatically go onto your record.
- Brook will not share your details with your GP or any other healthcare provider without your permission.
- The only times they would need to share is if you were at risk of harm to yourself or others or if you are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection (STI), In this instance the clinic may notify your GP to ensure coordinated care.
- Brook will always tell you if they have to share information about you.
- Brook is a confidential service which means they will not tell anyone that you have been to their services.
Will you tell my parents if I go to Brook for contraception or an STI test?
- Brook is a confidential service which means they will not tell anyone that you have been to their clinic. If you are under 16, Brook would only tell a parent or carer if they thought you were in danger or at risk of harm and they would tell you if they needed to do this.
