Shelter

Shelter Lancashire have an Advice, Support and Guidance Team specialising in housing, welfare benefits and debt advice. They also have a legal team who deal with complex housing matters such as repossession, unlawful eviction, homelessness reviews and anti-social behaviour. Shelter work closely with the local community to understand the barriers faced by those in housing need to influence and make change. 

In partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council (Public Health) and Lancashire Mind, Shelter work on a project called Healthy Mind, Safe Home to deliver a service that promotes better mental health and providing face-to-face support across communities in the borough. Shelter can provide a link between advice and wellbeing services for young adults and young families between the ages of 16-35.
